Will Shaheen Shah Afridi be Available for World T20 Warmups?
Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is currently in rehab after getting injured. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been out of action since a long time as he missed Asia Cup 2022 as well as the 7-Match T20I Series against England. In a recent update by the Pakistan Cricket Board, it was learnt that Shaheen is all set to join the Pakistan Squad on 15th October 2022.
This means that he is done with his rehab now and now he is all set to join the Green Team. Moreover, PCB also said that Shaheen Shah Afridi will be available for selection for both the warm-up matches that Pakistan is scheduled to play. Pakistan will play its first warmup game against England on 17th October, while their second warmup match will be against Afghanistan on 19th October 2022.
Shaheen is highly likely to play both matches as it is important for him to gain rhythm ahead of the mega event. His fitness will be assessed in these 2 games. Shaheen himself also stated that he is excited to finally join the team once again. He revealed that he is bowling 6-8 overs regularly for the past 10 days and he has no issues anymore. Shaheen will join the team in Brisbane along-with Pakistan team’s mentor Matthew Hayden.
