Chief selector Mohammad Wasim tells why Azam Khan and Sharjeel khan were omitted from the T20 squad
The squad announced to face South Africa was full of surprises and one of the biggest shockers was the exclusion of in-form power hitters, Sharjeel Khan and Azam Khan.

Mohammad Wasim told the media that both of these players are undoubtedly the best power hitters the country has but there are still improvements and changes needed to be made for them to make the cut.

Wasim further said that they are keeping an eye on both these players and the pair are on constant watch and will be selected once they achieve the benchmarks and objectives set by the board.

Moreover, he said that Azam Khan is the best wicket-keeper batsman in the 20 overs format for Pakistan. This statement was staggering and a confidence booster for Moin Khan’s son considering the form Mohammad Rizwan is in.
Both of the players are in superb form and are nearing the selection for the national team and all we can do is hope and pray for the best of their careers.
