Who has Better Chances of Winning PSL 7 Final? | Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars

Who has Better Chances of Winning PSL 7 Final? | Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars:

The final of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League will be played between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars got set up for the final after Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars in the Qualifier, while Lahore Qalandars in their second chance, defeated Islamabad United in the 2nd Eliminator. This will be an interesting final, as Lahore Qalandars is led by ICC Cricketer of the year 2021, Shaheen Shah Afridi while Multan Sultans is led by ICC T20I Cricketer of the year, Mohammad Rizwan.

H2H Situation:

The Head to Head Situation is quite interesting between these two sides. Multan Sultans have won 7 out of 12 games against Lahore Qalandars in PSL History. Lahore Qalandars have won the remaining 5. Multan Sultans have been invincible in PSL this year, however the only team who have defeated them in PSL 7 is Lahore Qalandars. So Lahore has done something what no other team could do in PSL 7 and they will surely have this thought in their minds.

Who has Better Chance of Winning?

Multan Sultans will start the final as the favorites and the situation is 60-40 in the favor of Multan Sultans. The reason behind this is that the Sultans are the defending champions. They have done nothing wrong this year as well. They have won all of their matches except one. Despite being defeated by Lahore Qalandars once, they defeated them on two occasions in PSL 7. Moreover in the spin friendly conditions of Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Multan Sultans have the services of Imran Tahir, their lead spinner while Lahore Qalandars are without Rashid Khan. Another reason is that Multan knows how to play in the final, how to keep yourself calm in such a big match. Most of the players of Multan Sultans this year, were also with the side last year when they won the whole thing.

On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars fighting spirit is worth of praise. Their never give-up attitude has brought them here. They were even hopeful when just 8 runs were left to defend in the final over in the 2nd Eliminator. Their grit, passion and motivation towards the game is amazing. Lahore’s weak link is Mohammad Hafeez, who has failed to do anything impressive with the bat thus far. However, Multan Sultans have some left-handed batsmen in their lineup, so Hafeez could be dangerous with the ball. All what Lahore needs is consistency, They have Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, these are match winners in a single side.

Possible Team Changes?

Lahore Qalandars have Fawad Ahmed on the bench. While Samit Patel is playing ahead of him and hasn’t done anything notable with either bat or ball. This could be the only possible change in their lineup from the 2nd Eliminator. Multan Sultans are expected to retain the same lineup. An unlikely change could be bringing in Sohaib Maqsood for Johnson Charles, but the chances of this happening are very low.

The Multan Sultans vs Lahore Qalandars final of seventh edition of Pakistan Super League will beging at 7:30 PM (PST) at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 27th February 2022. Either Lahore will break the jinx of being trophy-less since 6 years, or Multan Sultans will become the first team to successfully defend their PSL Title.
