The Pakistan Junior League (PJL) received a soft launch on 14th April 2022 when the Pakistan Cricket Board issued a Request for Expressions of Interest for various available rights relating to the Twenty20 competition, which is set to begin in October of this year.

As per the details revealed by the PCB Chairman, Ramiz Raja, This will be a city-based league, with players chosen through a draft system that will include international age-group cricketers. The PCB will create a brilliant environment, with legends and icons of the game serving as mentors and coaches in player dugouts, and broadcast coverage from the top draw.

The league is for Under-19 cricketers and to promote their talent. Chairman PCB further stated that, “Initiatives such as the PJL are all about providing opportunities for cricketers, identifying talent, developing it into world-class players, and bridging the gap between domestic and international cricket.”

The PCB plans to hold the initial season of Pakistan Junior League in October this year and the hunt for the sponsors and a broadcasting team has already began.
