Unwanted Record of Lahore Qalandars after Defeat against Quetta Gladiators
Unwanted Record of Lahore Qalandars after Defeat against Quetta Gladiators:
Lahore Qalandars had a great time in PSL 7 before yesterday. Yesterday, till the first innings, they were joyous and happy. But what happened in the 2nd innings left them shocked and disappointed. Lahore once again failed to defend a 200+ total against Quetta as Jason Roy ran over the entire world class bowling of Lahore Qalandars. Lahore were invited to bat first, and they took the opportunity to score big thanks to the ever consistent Fakhar Zaman and Harry Brook. Brook gave them a fitting end to the innings. However Jason Roy made sure that Lahore’s happiness was short-lived as he destroyed them with his Maiden century in PSL.
After this epic run chase by Quetta Gladiators, Lahore becomes the team who have failed to defend 200+ targets most time in PSL history. They have failed to defend it thrice against Quetta Gladiators in PSL history and once against Multan Sultans. Overall on 7 occasions, 200+ Runs have been scored in the 2nd innings in PSL history. On 4 ocassions out these 7, Lahore was on the receiving end.
Lahore’s bowling this year was rated as the best of the tournament. As they had Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan. Yet surprisingly, 200+ target has been chased twice against them in this season. Once it was against Multan Sultans and the other against the Quetta Gladiators. Lahore have also became the first team ever to fail on defending 200+ targets twice in the same season. These are indeed, some unwanted records that Lahore have created. Although they are still in a strong position on the points table, they still need to work on their bowling and fix these minor lapses if they want to win the event.
