On Thursday, fast bowler Dale Steyn questioned why senior South African players were not included in the Proteas squad for the four-match Twenty20 International series against Pakistan in April.
Steyn asks why South African players:
“I missed the reason why our big dogs aren’t playing the T20s against Pak?” Steyn tweeted after Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced squads for the upcoming home series.

Due to their Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments, a number of top players, including David Miller, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Anrich Nortje, were not included in the T20I squad.
The CSA stated that the aforementioned players were only included in the ODI squad due to an agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI) so that they could leave early to join their respective IPL teams.
From April 2 to 16, South Africa will play Pakistan in three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and four Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is) in Centurion and Johannesburg.
