Shan Masood achieved another milestone of his career
Pakistani opener Shan Masood successfully smashed a gutsy century against England at Old Trafford and piled up a huge 150 on the second day of the first test match today on the 6th of August. This has been his third successive ton against three different teams Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and now England.
After losing the early wicket of the major player of visitor’s side on new day, Babar Azam on 69 runs, spectators almost became hopeless and were estimated for the team to maintain a target of 250 runs, but the remarkable performance of opener Shan Masood regained the hope back by smashing a wonderful century with a well-supported partnership of 76 runs with all-rounder Shadab Khan who got out on Dom Bess’s delivery at 45 on being caught by Joe Root. Shan Masood stayed even tempered and steadily bagged a spectacular 150
30-year-old’s brilliant knock is still continued by the time. He survived Broad’s yorkers, Anderson’s swingers, Jofra’s bouncers, Woakes’s spells so aspiringly.
Shan Masood became the first Pakistani Opener to score a century against England since 1996, when it was Saeed Anwer to hold the record. Shani became a part of those elite players to score out standing century in three successive innings. Also, he became the first opener to score a century in England since 2015 as a visitor team. Not only being a centurion, he is the second opener from pakistan to pile up a 150 in an innings of Pak vs England match.
