Shahid Afridi misses a flight to Srilanka for LPL 2020
Former Pakistani international all-rounder and the former captain Shahid Afridi who will be leading Galle Gladiators missed his flight to Srilanka and will be unavailable for at least starting 2 matches of Lanka Premier League.

The former Pakistan captain tweeted;
“Missed my flight to Colombo today morning. Nothing to worry I’ll be reaching soon to take part in the LPL for Galle Gladiators. Look forward to joining my teammates,”

40 years old Afridi had played 2 matches for Multan Sultan in PSL 5 a month earlier. His was in good form as he took 3 wickets in two matches.
Afridi had been named as the captain of Galle Gladiators after the Srilankan pacer Lasith Malinga and Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed made themselves out of the league due to lack of preparation and for some rest.

Galle Gladiators will play their 1st match against Jaffna Stallions on 27 November 2020. While the opening match will be on 26 November between Kandy Tuskers and Colombo Kings.
The Gladiators play their second and third matches on November 28 and 30 respectively. In absence of Shahid Afridi, Vice-captain Bhanuka Rajapaksa will lead the team.

After the arrival of Afridi at Srilanka, he will go for three days of isolation as a rule. In the tournament, five franchisees named after Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dam bulla, and Jaffna will compete across 23 matches.
