Saqlain Mushtaq likely to be the Head Coach for World T20 2021

Veteran Off Spin bowler, Saqlain Mushtaq is likely to continue as Pakistan’s head coach for the World T20 2021. Saqlain Mushtaq was appointed after Pakistan’s Head Coach after Misbah-Ul-Haq resigned. Saqlain was appointed just for the series against New Zealand. However the series didn’t happen after the BlackCaps abandoned the tour over a security threat.

As per sources, Saqlain will be the interim Head Coach of Pakistan for the Mega Event later this year. Vernon Philander and Matthew Hayden will be the bowling and batting consultant coaches respectively. Moreover, Abdul Razzaq is not likely to continue his role with the National Team. Razzaq was appointed as Assistant Coach for the New Zealand Series, but now only Saqlain is expected to be with the national team for the mega event and Razzaq will perform duties in domestic cricket season 2021-22.

The 44 year old Saqlain Mushtaq has been with the England Cricket Side multiple times as their spin bowling consultant. Saqlain Mushtaq has also worked at the National High Performance Centre of Pakistan to help the emerging players. Now he is all set to be the Head Coach of Pakistan in the all important World T20 2021. An official announcement is yet to be made regarding the Head Coach of Pakistan for the Mega event.
