Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma misses 2 test matches in Australia

Rohit Sharma will not be able to play 2 test matches against Australia due to a hamstring injury and Ishant Sharma needs some time to regain his bowling to play a test match.

India will be facing Australia in a Test series (4 matches) starting from 17-Dec, 2020 to 19-Jan, 2021. Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma has been ruled out from starting 2 test matches.

In the latest tournament of IPL Rohit Sharma suffered a hamstring injury due to which he is not fit for a match against Australia. Rohit needs 2-3 weeks to be completely fit. And Ishant Sharma who has regained the bowling fitness will need 2-3 weeks for work out to be ready for the test match.

After being completely fit to face Australia first, they have to be isolated for 14 days, and then they both would be able to play the 3rd test against Australia in SCG stadium.

Even if they flew on the earliest date 8-Dec, they will be quarantined for 2 weeks and which will resist them from training until 22 December.

The 32 members of India had start training in Sydney after completing their isolation. The selector of India could look for Shreyas Iyer in replacement of Rohit Sharma.

 Shreyas Iyer is already in the white-ball squad because of his amazing performance. In 54 first-class games, Iyer has aggregated 4592 runs at an average of 52.18. He has 12 centuries and 23 half-centuries.

Instead of Ishant Sharma, India already has strong fast-bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, and Mohammed Siraj in their Test squad.
