Records Made in the Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi Clash | PSL 7:

It was a run fest at National Stadium Karachi when Quetta Gladiators locked horns with Peshawar Zalmi on Friday. Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and decided to bowl first, but they immediately seemed to have regretted their decision. The openers of Quetta Gladiators came out firing on all cylinders.

Will Smeed and Ahsan Ali destroyed the Zalmi bowlers by scoring 155 runs in the opening partnership. The opening partnership was broken in the 16th over of the innings when Ahsan Ali was dismissed after scoring 73(46).This 155 run stand was the highest opening stand for Quetta Gladiators in the history of Pakistan Super League. This was also the joint 3rd highest partnership in PSL history. This partnership was also the highest partnership for any wicket for Quetta Gladiators in the 7 year history of PSL.

Moreover, Will Smeed continued his path of destruction even after the wicket of Ahsan Ali. Smeed went on to make 97 before he unfortunately got out and couldn’t score a century. This was the second highest individual score by a Quetta Gladiators batsman in PSL history. Will Smeed had the golden chance to become the first Quetta batsman to smash a PSL hundred, but he couldn’t grab that chance. Despite Quetta lost the game, they surely had few positives in the game. Over 380 runs were scored in both innings of the second match of PSL 7.
