PSL 7 Officials Announced | Umpires and Referees:
The 2022 PSL is all set to kick-off from January 27th. With all the preparations in the final stages, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the officials for all PSL 7 Fixtures. The officials announced are just for the group matches and for play-offs, the officials will be announced later.
Aleem Dar, Michael Gough and Richard Illingworth are the renowned umpires from the ICC’s elite panel of umpires who will be officiating in PSL. Other Umpires include; Ahsan Raza, Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Afridi, Imran Jawed, Imtiaz Iqbal, Nasir Hussain, Rashid Riaz, Shozab Raza and Waleed Yaqub. These are the 12 umpires which include 2 foreign umpires, to officiate PSL 7 matches.
Meanwhile ICC’s Chief Match Referee, Ranjan Madugalle will make his HBL PSL Debut this year. Madugalle is a former Sri Lankan Cricketer who featured in 84 international matches for Sri Lanka. Ranjan Madugalle has previously been the match referee in many international visits to Pakistan. He last visited Pakistan in 2020 to officiate as referee in Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20I Series. Roshan Mahanama will also be the referee in 9 matches of PSL 7. Apart from the 2 foreigners, Ali Naqvi, Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Javed will perform the duties as match referees. All 3 locals are part of the PCB elite panel of match referees.
