Pakistan vs India – The Rivalry Continues | Asia Cup 2022:

The IndoPak rivalry will continue on Sunday in the 2nd Match of the 15th edition of Asia Cup 2022. This will only be the 2nd Ocassion when both teams will play against each other at Dubai in the T20I Format. The only other instance was in the World T20 2021 where Pakistan crushed the Indian Team to defeat by 10 wickets.

If we look at the overall record, India have an edge in the T20I format over Pakistan. Both teams have come face to face 9 times in T20Is, 7 times India have emerged victorious while Pakistan have defeated them only twice in the shortest format of the game.

Both teams will be coming in the competition without their ace fast bowlers. Both teams will be riding high on confidence as India are coming into the tournament after big wins over England and Zimbabwe, and Pakistan are coming into the tournament after whitewashing Netherlands.

In Asia Cup matches over the years, both teams have come face to face in 14 games, with India winning 8, Pakistan winning 5 and one match ended as no result. So in Asia Cup head to head record, India has an edge. Pakistan last won the mega event 10 years ago, in 2012. India is currently the defending champion of Asia Cup and they will look to successfully defend their title.

The rivalry has excitement, guaranteed drama and a loads of pressure for both the countries. Although both sides always look to stay calm before this match, but being arch-rivals there are surely some extra nerves in this type of a match.

India has a win percentage of 50 in T20Is at Dubai Cricket Stadium, while Pakistan has a win percentage of 58 at the same venue in T20Is. It won’t be easy to score runs at this venue. Only 4 times, 200+ has been scored in T20Is at the Dubai Cricket Stadium. The long boundaries would surely demand some power and good skill to score plenty of runs.

The Pakistan vs India clash will begin at 7:00 PM (PST) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This will be the first game of Group A. Apart from India and Pakistan, Hong Kong is also a part of the same group.
