NewZealand win despite Fawad Alam’s 100!
NewZealand vs Pakistan Day 5: this is as good as test cricket gets, at its best. The format is well and truly alive.
NewZealand win the test on a action packed day 5 at Mount Maunganui stealing the win with only 4.3 overs remaining in the test. After a long and hard fought contest NZ managed to win by 101 runs. The teams played true test cricket and made the contest worthy of watching the whole way through.

NewZealand make history
This was an important test as it was a part of the ICC test championship! With this win NewZealand make history becoming the No.1 test side for the first time under the captain of a genius of the game, Kane Williamson.
Fawad roars after a wait of 11 years!
Fawad Alam. The man who Waited 11 years to represent his country in an international game. Who never lost hope, who fought harder everyday. He didn’t give up and surely Fawad’s hardwork and patience and sheer determination has paid off as Fawad scores his Second test match century on Day 5 agaisnt NewZealand. It took Fawad 269 deliveries to achieve the rememberable feat. His innings consisted of 14 fours, resulting in runs flowing in at a strike rate of 37.92.
Fawad celebrated his comeback in style, smiles and hugs.
Rizwan leading from the front
Muhammad Rizwan proves to be brave and bold leader as he showed his ability of what he can do with the bat during both innings. Rizwan scored 71 off 142 along side Faheem Ashraf who scored 91 and the pair rescued Pakistan after a tough opening spell by the kiwis. Rizwan partnered up with Fawad Alam and shared a stand of 150 runs. Rizwan 60 off 191 proving he’s a Captain who leads from the front!
Wise Williamson
Kane Williamson was named player of the match for his brilliance with the bat in the first innings scoring 129 off 297 and giving his team a solid lead after Shaheen Shah Afridi ripped through NewZealand’s opening pair in his first spell. Williamson declared after a 373 run lead which was a risky move but his wise thinking led NewZealand to an impressive win over Pakistan.
