Major Pakistani Players to Miss Out WI Series | Participating in BBL:

The West Indies Cricket Team is scheduled to tour Pakistan for a 3 match T20I and ODI series. The tour will begin from 13th December and will continue till the 22nd December 2021. As of now, the Pakistan team is playing their 2 match Test Series in Bangladesh but we have a little update regrading how will the Pakistan squad look like in the series against West Indies. As per media sources, Pakistan Cricket Team will rest their major stars in the series against West Indies. Experienced players like Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik are already confirmed, not to be part of the series. Hafeez has preferred Lanka Premier League while Shoaib Malik wants to play selected series.

It is learnt that skipper Babar Azam convinced the senior players as well as some of the top performers to rest in the series. The reason is that Babar Azam wants to try different combinations and wants to give exposure to the rising stars. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim are also expected to be rested for the series. Moreover it is also learnt that many Pakistani Cricketers have been offered contracts in BBL. A trusted source claims that the reason to rest major Pakistani Players in the West Indies series is that they go and play Big Bash League in Australia. Playing BBL will give the Pakistani players exposure to the Australian tracks, where the next World T20 is scheduled.

This is a good strategy as youngsters will get an opportunity at home while Pakistan’s preparations for the next World T20 will also be good.There is no update on whether the regular skipper, Babar Azam will feature in the series against West Indies or not. But other major players not featuring in the series against West Indies is confirmed. Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf are some names reported by the media who have already got offers to feature in BBL 2021/22.
