The ICC has released a new ODI player rankings, with Indian captain Virat Kohli retaining the number one position with 871 points, followed by Indian batsman Rohit Sharma with 855 points.

While Pakistani star batsman Babar Azam is at the third position, Jaspreet Bumra is at the first position among the bowlers and New Zealand’s Trent Bolt is at the second position.

RANKINGS IMPROVEMENTS:

England’s 329-run chase on Tuesday has seen a significant improvement in the rankings of several Irish players, with Irish captain Andy Bilberny moving up four places to 42nd and Ireland’s Paul Sterling is ranked 26th.

Irish batsman Curtis Kempher has been included in the list of 191st batsmen for his performance in the debut series.

Curtis Kempfer remained unbeaten on 59 in the first match and 68 in the second.

On the other hand, Irish fast bowler Craig Young took 6 wickets after which his ranking improved by 40 places and now he has reached 89th position in the list of bowlers.

Adil Rashid, one of England’s bowlers, has moved up from 29th to 25th position after taking 5 wickets in the series, while left-arm bowler David Willie, after 8 wickets, not only bagged the best player award of the series but also improved by 6 notches. Reached 51st position.

ENGLAND QUALIFIED FOR WORLDCUP 2023

By winning this series, the England team has gained 20 points, which has given it a prominent place in the qualifying round of 13 teams of the World Cup to be held in India in 2023.

The Irish team is still at the tenth position in this list. India and the other seven top teams in the league will qualify directly for the 10-team World Cup along with the other two qualifiers.
