4 reasons why Lahore Qalandars will win PSL 2020 and 3 reasons why they won’t
Tomorrow on 17th November 2020, National Stadium, Karachi will host the biggest contest in HBL PSL’s 5-year history.
The two biggest cities of Pakistan will collide in the final for their first ever PSL trophy. Here are 4 reasons why Lahore Qalandars will win the final and 3 why they won’t.
Winning momentum (will):
For the first time in Lahore Qalandar’s history, they are tipped as favorites. Lahore Qalandars have won their last 3 matches and since the return of PSL, they haven’t made a mistake.
Unpredictability (will not):
Lahore Qalandars are a team similar to Pakistan’s International team, Unpredictable. On their day they can chase a total of 200 but if its not their day then scoring a total of 100 seems a milestone.
Foreign luck (will):
Qalandars are a team who always went for big names around the world but this year they went for players who are not as priced as others.
With names such as David Weise, Ben Dunk, Samit Patel and, Tamim Iqbal (who are not hyped up like previous signings) we expected a bit different.
These players showed exactly why only performance matters. These players proved their worth by playing their part in the team and by giving winning match winning performances.
Captaincy (will not):
Captain Sohail Akhter has surely helped Qalandars reach their first ever final, but we all know that this isn’t true.Sohail Akhter has played absolutely awful this year with no real intent and desire. None of his innings showed any potential or talent.
Getting out on low scores and giving away wicket when captains innings were required. Visible that most decisions in the team are either taken by the coaching staff when off the field, and by Mohammad Hafeez when on the field, Sohail Akhter has a point to prove in his biggest challenge yet.
Perfect bowling combination (will):
After years of producing bowling talents for Pakistan and not finding perfect combinations in bowling department, Lahore Qalandars have finally found the right combo. With Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Diblar Hussain, David Weise and, Samit Patel/Mohammad Hafeez all in form Lahore Qalandars seem more dangerous than ever.
Bad economy rates (will not):
Qalandars economy rate in bowling in the death overs is really dreadful and with a team like Kings and at a stage like this will not be too kind to Lahore.
The X factor (will):
Lahore Qalandars found the right man in the right form at the right time i.e. Mohammad Hafeez. Hafeez possess experience, bowling skills, power hitting, innings building ability and calm nerves.
Everything that a team could ask for is present in Mohammad Hafeez. He proved everyone wrong when people questioned his talent and questioned whether he is fit enough or maybe he is to old. He gave all of them the perfect answer with his performances.
