Another whammy for Multan Sultans, James Vince to miss PSL playoffs after contracting covid

James Vince ruled out of PSL playoff matches after being a victim of CoronaVirus outbreak

After the Bangladeshi all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyadh, English cricketer, and key player of Multan Sultans, James Vince also tested positive for Covid-19 which consequently made James Vince pull out of the remaining matches of PSL to be played from Nov 14.

Sultans are facing a very unfortunate series of events in the context of overseas players which were vital to take Multan Sultans to the top of the points table. James Vince was one of such players who played a crucial role at the time when the team needed him most.

Moeen Ali had also skipped the tour due to the current covid situation who was then replaced by Mahmudullah Riyadh from Bangladesh, but yesterday he also got his covid tests positive which constrained him to isolate himself.

Before boarding for Pakistan, James Vince put in one of the two Covid tests mandatory for every player before taking the flight, which became positive. As a result, he is compelled to miss out on the remaining tournament.

The replacement of Vince is yet to be announced by the officials of Multan Sultans. The current overseas players in the team include Ravi Bopara, Imran Tahir, and Rilee Rossouw. The first playoff is scheduled between Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings on Nov 14 at National Stadium Karachi.
