Insight on Indian Squad Announced for Asia Cup 2022:
The defending champions of the Asia Cup, India have announced their squad for this year’s Asia Cup. The squad will be led by Rohit Sharma while KL Rahul will be his deputy. Virat Kohli has also returned to the side but the ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not in the side due to an injury.
Indian team as usual have quite a strong looking batting unit for Asia Cup 2022 as well. They have the likes of Rohit, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Deepak Hooda in their batting lineup. Not to forget, Hardik Pandya has also been in great form with the bat lately. India looks like a strong batting unit but they seem to be a little compromised on their bowling attack.
Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Kumar are the two young pace bowlers that India have chosen for Asia Cup 2022. We’ve seen in the past that on a given day, Avesh could be extremely slippery while Arshdeep is yet to face some strong challenges. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the leader of the pace attack of India and India will be heavily reliant on Bhuvneshwar Kumar with pace bowling. Indian spin attack comprises of Chahal, Jadeja, Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi. Bishnoi again is new to this stage, while Ashwin and Jadeja haven’t done anything significant with the ball in limited overs Cricket lately. Just like pace bowling, India will once again rely heavily on a single bowler, Yuzvendra Chahal. Overall the Indian squad announced has a strong batting department, a good spin attack but an average pace attack. It would be interesting to see how things shape up for the defending champions
