India Tour of Australia 2020

BCCI has sent  a massive squad, already in Australia to encounter against the Aussies in three T20s, three ODIs and Four test matches. The two teams are currently in Australia in their quarantine phase right now.

SCHEDULE:

The teams will kick off the tour with ODI series at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 27thNovember 2020. The two sides will also play practice matches ahead of the ODI series from 11-13 December. They will later kick off the T20 series. 

Fighting for the Border-Gavaskar trophy. India and Australia will compete in a day-night test in Adelaide Oval on 17th December 2020.

Kohli Leaves after First Test.

“At the selection committee meeting held on October 26th, 2020, Mr Virat Kohli had informed the BCCI about his plans to return to India after the first Test in Adelaide. The BCCI has granted paternity leave to the Indian captain. He will return after the first Test against Australia in Adelaide,” as said in a press release by BCCI. 

As Kohli will be leaving India after the after the first test match the concerns arise for who should lead the Indian side for the remaining of the tour. With Kohli on leave, Rohit Sharma and Ajikya Rahane will be the most experienced of the lot India will be left with. 

Rohit Sharma who is expected to lead the side after Kohli leaves India to go back for the birth of his first child, has been rested for T20 and ODI series and been included in the Test side after being monitored prior to getting a hamstring injury during the IPL who later on went and led his team Mumbai Indians to their 4th IPL title.
