“I need to go back to maths class”

David Malan the No.1 ranked T20 batsman in the world misjudged the numbers at the end of the innings and finished with 99*. Malan thought he needed to get a single to secure a win and score his 2nd T20I hundred. 

Misjudgement:

England won the series against South Africa by 3-0, in their final T20 chasing 192 with David Malan on 98* with 14 balls to spare, with just one run needed Malan went for the single and took his side to a victory. 

“I need to go back to maths class!”

He said that “I need to go back to maths class” as he completely misjudged the numbers and missed his 2nd T20I just just one run. 

Malan and Buttler put up a show:

David Malan and Jos Buttler put up an amazing partnership of 167 runs with a run rate of 11.92. This is now the biggest second wicket partnership in men’s T20Is.
