Former Pakistani Pacer Appointed Bowling Coach of Afghanistan:

Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul has been appointed as the new bowling coach of Afghanistan. Umar Gul was appointed as a bowling consultant first in a 20-Day camp with the Afghanistan Cricket Team after which now he has been appointed permanent bowling coach of the side.

Umar Gul has done coaching in multiple Leagues like the LPL, PSL, and KPL. But this is his first major international assignment as a coach. Umar Gul took 427 wickets in his International Career for Pakistan and was widely known for his accurate bowling. Umar Gul is widely regarded as a great T20I bowler. He is one of those 8 bowlers in T20I Cricket History to take multiple five wicket hauls.

Umar Gul played 60 T20Is for Pakistan picking up 85 wickets at a phenomenal average of just 16. Gul represented Pakistan in 237 International Matches. He last played for Pakistan in 2016 and then due to various injuries he couldn’t play again.
