Former Pakistan Captain Asks Babar to Give up T20I Captaincy

Former Pakistan Captain Asks Babar to Give up T20I Captaincy:

Former Pakistan skipper and renowned all rounder, Shahid Afridi has advised the current Pakistani skipper Babar Azam to quit T20I captaincy. Despite getting his team to the final of the Mega Event (World T20 2022), Afridi advised Babar to quit the T20I captaincy for his own good.

Babar Azam’s performance with the bat in the World T20 2022 was far from satisfactory. He had a bat average of under 20 and his strike rate with the bat was also less than 100. Many believe that the work load and captaincy pressure is too much for Babar Azam to handle.

Afridi took the names of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Rizwan to be the alternate choices to replace Babar Azam as the T20I Captain. Babar Azam took Pakistan to the Semi Final of World T20 2021 and made it to the finals this year. He is also Pakistan’s most successful T20I Captain. Moreover, its not just Afridi who has asked for a captaincy change. Earlier, players like Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Amir also have spoken in favor of a captaincy change for Pakistan in T20Is.
