Fawad re-writes the history books!

10 years, 88 tests and a whole lot of patience. Fawad Alam the man of the moment, finally gets what he deserved. Finally re writes the history books. He shows that patience does pay off into an incomparable reward; representing your nation on a big stage, scoring a 100 in all important contest.

A story…

 Fawad Alam is not just a name. It’s a story. A story of every person, who doesn’t come from a rich family. Who has so fight through unjust circumstances to get what they deserve. 

Fawad’s test career

In July 2009, Fawad became the first Pakistani cricketer to score a Test century on debut away from home, and the tenth to score a century on debut, scoring 168 runs in the second innings of the second Test against SriLanka . In a partnership of 200 runs with captain Younis Khan  for the second wicket the pair broke the previous record of 151 runs between Mohsin Khan and Majid Khan at Lahore in 1981–82. It was also highest partnership for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. However, just two Test matches later, he was dropped from the team.

In December 2019, after a gap of more than ten years, he was named in Pakistan’s Test squad, for the two-match series against Sri Lanka. In June 2020, he was named in a 29-man squad for Pakistan’s tour to England during the COVID-19 pandemic. In July, he was shortlisted in Pakistan’s 20-man squad for the Test matches against England. In August 2020, Fawad played in the second Test against England, after a gap of 10 years and 258 days since his last Test match appearance In the first innings, he faced four balls before being dismissed for a duck

Fawad makes history

In December 2020, Fawad was named in Pakistan’s Test squad for their series against New Zealand. In the first Test of the same series, he scored his first Test hundred after more than 11 years.  There was a gap of 4218 days between the two centuries he has scored in his Test career, which is the longest gap after Warren Bardsley’s 5093 and Mushtaq Ali’s 4544. 

Patience pays off

Fawad did not only play a career defining innings against New Zealand but he give everyone hope that hard work, self less commitment to your dreams and patience does you no harm and the epitome of grace that Fawad Alam is proves that hard work pays off eventually.
