Fakhar Zaman Nearing an All-Time PSL Record | PSL Playoffs:

The Lineup for PSL 7 Playoffs is now set with Lahore Qalandars meeting Multan Sultans in the Qualifier while Peshawar Zalmi facing Islamabad United in the eliminator. Speaking about Lahore, a major chunk of their victories came after Fakhar Zaman heavily contributed at the top order. It was also seen that in the final group match of PSL 7, where Fakhar Zaman scored a golden duck, Lahore Qalandars ended up on the losing side.

Fakhar Zaman has scored 521 runs in PSL 7 at an average of 52.10. He is closing in on the record of most runs scored by a batsman in a single Pakistan Super League edition. Fakhar needs 34 more runs to break this record. Currently the record is held by Karachi Kings’ skipper, Babar Azam who scored 554 runs in PSL 2021. Fakhar Zaman currently has 521 runs in 10 matches at an average of 52 and a strike rate of 157.

Another record that Fakhar Zaman can look at is the record for most number of Individual Half Centuries in the tournament. This record is also held by Babar Azam who scored 7 fifties in PSL 2021. Fakhar Zaman currently has 6 half centuries in PSL 2022 and he can at least level this record, by smashing a fifty in the qualifier.

Lahore Qalandars will be heavily relying on Fakhar Zaman in the Qualifier. The first Qualifier will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 23rd February 2022 beginning at 7:30 PM (PST). The winner of this Qualifier will have a direct entry in the final of PSL 7.
