Cricket in Pakistan is Amazing, Tour Cancellation is a Real Shame: Williamson
New Zealand skipper, Kane Williamson has reacted on New Zealand cancelling the tour of Pakistan. Although Kane is in India at the moment for the Indian Premier League and he wasn’t a part of the BlackCaps touring party, yet he termed the tour cancellation as a shame.
“I don’t know about the details, it was a sudden call and obviously a real shame because Pakistan is a passionate nation for Cricket and Cricket in Pakistan is indeed amazing”
Kane Williamson stated.
The Kiwi skipper also said that he hopes that this cancellation won’t influence other teams to not tour Pakistan. New Zealand refused to take on the field moments before the start of the first ODI and it was felt that their decision to abandon the tour would once again bring problems for International Cricket in Pakistan. Kane although wishes that the Pakistani fans are not deprived of cricket once again. “The Game should be played in all countries. Pakistani people are passionate for the game”, Kane Williamson added.
Kane Williamson also admitted that the world has seen cricket being staged in Pakistan safely. “I hope the decision of cancelling the tour won’t put a lasting impact. Hopefully there will be plenty of more cricket to come in Pakistan”, Kane stated.
There are still a lot of doubts on whether England will tour Pakistan or not. Australia’s tour of Pakistan in 2022 is also in doubts after all this controversial move of the New Zealand Cricket Team. The decision of the New Zealand side has giving the fans a heartbreak and well, everyone wishes that Kane’s words become true and there won’t be a “Lasting” impact of their decision on the future of International Cricket in Pakistan.
