Chairman of Dubai Cricket Council Offers to Host India vs Pakistan Series:

The chairman of Cricketing Council of Dubai, Abdul Rehman Falaknaz had offered that UAE will host India vs Pakistan bilateral series. He recalled the time when Sharjah used to host India vs Pakistan matches. ‘When these IndoPak matches were hosted in Sharjah, it was almost like a sporting war and it was good’, he stated. He further added that he would love to convince both the nations to come here and play cricket at this neutral venue of UAE.

Moreover, the Chairman of Dubai Cricket Council also expressed his happiness over the fact that an Arab country hosted a cricket World Cup. ‘I am an Emirati and I am very proud. Noone thought that an Arab country would have facilities to host a Cricket World Cup because they think its not our game. Its amazing that an Arab country hosted a World Cup’, he added.

Well the offer has been made and we know that both India and Pakistan have good cricketing relations with UAE. Both the countries hosted their recently concluded T20 Leagues (IPL and PSL) in UAE due to Covid-19 situation. If the Chairman of Dubai Cricket Council is able to convince India and Pakistan to resume bilateral cricket series in the UAE, it would be huge. A large number of fans will show at the stadium and that TV ratings will also be sky-high. UAE has always acted as a neutral venue for many countries. In the past, United Arab Emirates has hosted many India vs Pakistan matches, particularly at Sharjah. The famous last ball six of Javed Miandad to Chetan Sharma was also at Sharjah. Pakistan and India have always played in UAE in multi team tournaments but never in a bilateral series.
