Big Trade Update Between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators | PSL 2022
Big Trade Update Between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators | PSL 2022:
With just few days remaining in PSL 2022 draft, we have some big news regarding trade between two former champions. The Trade window was open after the announcement of category renewals of the local players who featured in PSL 2021. As per the latest update, a top order batsman and an all-rounder from Multan Sultans have been transferred to PSL 2019 champions, Quetta Gladiators.
The All-Rounder is none other than the biggest superstar of Pakistan Cricket, Shahid Afridi. While the top order batsman is England’s James Vince. As per sources, the defending champions have agreed to trade both Shahid Afridi and James Vince to Quetta Gladiators ahead of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League. Although Multan never wanted to leave Shahid Afridi, but it was the wish of the veteran all-rounder to feature in Quetta’s lineup before his retirement from the league. This also hints that this year will be last one for Shahid Afridi in Pakistan Super League.
Letting James Vince go is quite surprising as Vince has been in red hot form and he did well for Multan Sultans last year. However Multan are likely to retain Rizwan, Sohaib Maqsood and Shan Masood. In that case, adjusting Vince in the top order is difficult for them, hence that is possibly the reason that they have traded Vince in order to pick someone else in the draft who better fits their lineup. As of now, sources claim that Multan Sultans will just get additional picks in the drafts and no player from Quetta’s last year squad is being transferred to Multan Sultans.
The official retention list for PSL 2022 will be released on 10th December 2021. Trade window is still open and we can see more trade between teams.
