Babar Azam Achieves Unwanted Captaincy Record | PSL 7

Babar Azam Achieves Unwanted Captaincy Record:

Karachi Kings win-less run has continued after they fell short of just one run against Islamabad United in Match 21 of the seventh edition of PSL 7. This was the best possible moment for Karachi Kings to finally have something to cheer for, but they could not finish the job. The game was surely one of the best of PSL 7 and the fans enjoyed it, apart from Karachi Fans.

As per the stats, Babar Azam has now captained Karachi Kings in 8 matches, and he has failed to win even a single game as captain in PSL history. Babar Azam first captained the Kings back in 2020 in Karachi’s final group match against Quetta Gladiators. 2020 was the year when Karachi won PSL, yet under Babar Azam, they lost to Quetta in that final group match.

Afterwards Babar has captained Karachi Kings in 7 matches in PSL 7 and unfortunately he has lost all 7 matches. There are a couple of more Karachi skippers who have never won in PSL as captain. Mohammad Amir and Ravi Bopara led Karachi Kings on one occasion each, but failed to win.

Babar Azam has led Pakistan to the semi-finals of World T20 as well as he holds the record for most T20I wins in a calendar year. So this does prove that there is nothing wrong with his captaincy, but something is wrong with Karachi Kings team.
