Ahmed Bashir, grandson of former first-class cricketer Bashir Haider, is also keen to show the batsmen the way to the pavilion.
When the opportunity arises, I will try to play an important role in the victory of the team by performing brilliantly, he said
Ahmed Bashir, the grandson of former first-class cricketer Bashir Haider, is also keen to show the batsmen the way to the pavilion. According to the PCB statement, fast bowler Ahmed Bashir is the grandson of former first-class cricketer Bashir Haider.
Bashir Haider played 39 first-class matches in his cricket career from 1960 to 1970. During this time he took 78 wickets. Impressed by his grandfather’s fast bowling, Ahmad Bashir also tried his luck in this game.
Apart from Ahmed Bashir, who has taken 9 wickets in 5 matches of the tournament, players like Khushdal Shah, Zafar Gohar and Danish Aziz were also participating in the event. Wanting to be the best bowler in the world, turning to cricket grounds with his grandfather created a passion for the game and now aims to reach that goal.
He said that in order to play standard club cricket in Lahore, he left his hometown and settled in Lahore, first in Lahore U-16 and then in U-19 teams. Ahmed Bashir, who took 112 and 41 wickets in Class A and 28 List A matches respectively, was made a part of Central Punjab’s final XI in place of Ehsan Adil.
So far, the fast bowler, who has taken 22 wickets in 13 T20 matches, has taken seven wickets in two matches of the National T20 Cup. Representing Central Punjab, the fast bowler led three players to the pavilion in the first match and four in the second. Instead of trying to recover, they wallow in their sadness and thus, experience more failure.
The young fast bowler said that during both the matches, the captain Babar Azam and the team management encouraged him a lot. The pitch was also conducive for the bowler, so I was instructed to bowl only wicket-to-wicket which proved to be beneficial. Ahmed Bashir, who won the Man of the Match award for taking 4 wickets against Balochistan, has termed the dismissal of Haris Sohail as his favorite wicket. He said that after dismissing Harris Sohail for an individual score of 41, he hoped to take 5 wickets in the match.
