Unwanted and Embarrassing Records Made During PSL 7

The Seventh edition of PSL 7 is in full swing with Multan Sultans dominating the event so far. However, the event is still open for all teams as we are only half-way through. On Monday, the final match of Karachi-Leg will be played and then the tournament will move to Lahore. As the tournament has progressed, there have been some embarrassing records which were made/surpassed during this season.

Most Expensive Spell:

Shahid Afridi conceding 67 runs against Islamabad United on his debut for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 7. Afridi did pick up a wicket in this spell, but conceded 67 runs in 4 overs. His economy rate was 16.8. This was the worst/most expensive spell in the History of Pakistan Super League. The previous record holder of this unwanted record was Zafar Gohar, who conceded 65 runs in his 4 overs spell last year.

Most Ducks:

Karachi Kings former skipper, Imad Wasim scored a duck against Peshawar Zalmi. This was Imad Wasim’s 9th Duck in PSL History. With this duck, he surpassed Kamran Akmal and became the new record holder for Most ducks in PSL History. In 62 matches, Imad’s batting average is just 17 and he has registered 9 ducks so far in PSL History.

We are only half-way through the PSL 7, and we can witness some more embarrassing records being made during this year’s PSL for sure.
